about

For a long time I’ve wanted to make an album with my interpretation of the African music that has inspired me through life . Since I started playing Djembe at the age of 8, it has been my biggest source of inspiration, and by that I mean everything from South African jazz to Algerian pop but above all the West African music, which I have been studying on the spot, on several trips to Senegal, Gambia and Mali.. With this music I want to convey at least some of the warmth and humor that I experienced during my travels in Africa, and in the music itself. I also wanted to explore the possibilties of the balafon as a form of main melodic instrument, and how I could it together with the Mbira and other percussion instruments to create arrangements. I also have Fanta Yayo singing on two songs, and Ebo Krdum on one, two succesful African artists based in Sweden, as
well as various musician friends as guests, but most of it is my own concoction.Hope you like it!
